The Beer You Can Only Get in Wisconsin

Cows are everywhere, especially those lovely black and white Holstein cows. This is America’s Dairyland.

But did you know there is one kind of “cow” you can only get in Wisconsin?

Spotted Cow Beer

You’ve seen the jumping spotted cow on the cans – and you know, you love this beer. As brewmaster and creator Dan Carey likes to call it, the farmhouse ale is “fun, fruity and satisfying. You know you’re in Wisconsin when you see the Spotted Cow.”

Spotted Cow is brewed by New Glarus Brewing Company, which puts the local drink on the map. Although only sold in the Badger State, here’s another Wisconsin-only product worth jumping about – like that silly cow on the beer label.

Farmhouse Ale

While many “beer-purists” want to categorize Spotted Cow, New Glarus Brewing owners Dan and Deb Carey describe their brewed perfection as, “Cask conditioned ale has been the popular choice among brews since long before prohibition. We continue this pioneer spirit with our Wisconsin farmhouse ale. Brewed with the finest American malts. We even give the nod to our farmers.”

In addition to stocking up on Spotted Cow, a visit to New Glarus Brewing Company is an opportunity to watch the brewing in action with tours and visit the retail store to get a chance to be totally naked

Regardless of why you visit, I know this, Spotted Cow (and the other New Glarus brews) is damn good. And always a reason for me to get back home to Wisconsin!

We don’t even need to tell you what cool thing this is. New Glarus Brewing Co. Founded in 1993 in New Glarus, WI, Spotted Cow has become a beer lover’s staple and a best seller.
