Six Wisconsin businesses make the list! The annual Glassdoor Best Places to Work in the U.S. has released its 2021 top 100 companies. If you don’t know about Glassdoor, it’s a great website to check out job postings, potential employers, salary information, and reviews from current and former employees.
If you’re interviewing for a job, you need to check out Glassdoor. That is why making this list is a big deal for six WI companies.

Milwaukee Tool – #44
This highest-rated WI business at #44, Milwaukee Tool, headquartered in Brookfield, began in 1924 and continues to “lead the industry in developing innovative solutions that deliver increased productivity and unmatched durability for professional construction users.”
They must be doing something right because, in 2020, Glassdoor ranked Milwaukee Tool as 60. Jumping up 16 spots is quite an accomplishment.
Bergstrom Automotive – #51
Located in Neenah, Bergstrom Automotive logged in as the 51st best place to work. With 30 facilities throughout the state, “Bergstrom Automotive is proud to be a part of the Fox Valley, Madison, Green Bay, and other communities throughout Wisconsin. Because of the people and the way of life here in Wisconsin, we wouldn’t want to do business anywhere else.”
In 2020, Bergstrom finished #49th.
Acuity Insurance – #68
Coming in number 68, Acuity Insurance has been in business since 1925, providing “property and casualty insurance products for consumers and businesses in the U.S.” Headquartered in Sheboygan, Acuity provides insurance for 100,000 businesses 300,000 commercial vehicles, and nearly 500,000 homes and cars.
With the most significant jump on the Glassdoor ranking among Badger State companies, Acuity placed 97th in 2020 and skyrocketed to 68 this year.
Kwik Trip – #79
Popping in on the list at #79, Kwik Trip “operates friendly, clean, trusted, family-owned, local convenience stores in communities throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa. With a commitment to generosity…” Kwik Trip is headquartered in La Crosse, but you can find them around almost any corner.
This listing marks a return for Kwik Trip to the Glassdoor Awards. Its last ranking was in 2018 at #64.
ManpowerGroup – #81
At #81, ManpowerGroup stationed in Milwaukee is “a leading global workforce solutions company, helping organizations transform in a fast-changing world of work by sourcing, assessing, developing, and managing the talent that enables them to win.”
ManpowerGroup is no stranger to the Glassdoor Best Places to Work listing. In 2020, the Milwaukee-based company came in #43.
Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. – #82
Rounding out the WI businesses on the annual list is Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. at #82. With its main office in Milwaukee, “Northwestern Mutual has been helping families and businesses achieve financial security for over 161 years. Through a distinctive, whole-picture planning approach including both insurance and investments….”
This year marks the first time Northwestern Mutual has been on the listing since 2018, when it was at #67.
