Is Civic Media the Boogeyman?

“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fundraise off of you”… or something like that.

We spent most of the hour discussing the Republican Party of Wisconsin’s fundraising email that tried to scare the recipients into donating because of the scary “Democratic mega-donor who bought 18 radio stations.”

We explore what a compliment it is to be used as fodder but also the fact that they got what Civic Media is and it’s goal ENTIRELY wrong.

Then we discuss some headlines:

• The Good: ‘First of its kind’ Illinois law will penalize libraries that ban books
• The Bad: Fentanyl now the No. 1 killer in Wisconsin for ages 25 to 54
• The Celebratory: The Denver Nuggets won their first NBA championship after defeating the Miami Heat in five games. Party’s at Casa Bonita.
