Freshman U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden has been appointed to the House Agriculture Committee, which it the first time there has been Wisconsin representation on that committee in ten years. He apparently has since pledged to become the “cheese king of Congress” and said he wants to “bring dignity to farming” and claimed he would work to make it easier to farm. We discuss the mixed emotions we’re feeling by him potentially doing the right thing for Wisconsin but knowing that it could make it that much harder to flip that seat back to a Democrat.
